The fifth annual Bruce A. Williams Motorcycle Memorial Ride is set to begin at 9:00 AM on August 30th, 2008 at Riverside Park in Berlin, WI. The parking lot provides adequate space for registration and parking.
Note: To expedite the registration process, please have your waiver forms filled out and signed before arriving the day of the event. The waiver form can be found in the "Memorial Ride" menu above. Please also note that registration times are from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM. Please make plans accordingly as the ride ceremony will start at 11:00 AM and we would like everyone registered by then.
During registration, coffee, juice drinks, and donuts will be provided by the Wisconsin State Lodge of the Fraternal Order of Police. Bratwurst and hamburgers will also be available prior to departing. A variety of vendors will also be on hand for riders to browse.
At 12:00 o'clock (noon), the blessing for the ride will commence and the ride will depart from Berlin.
The first of two stops will be in Markesan, WI, where the downtown will be transformed into an open street party complete with food and live entertainment for the riders. All poker cards will be dealt in Markesan.
Leaving Markesan we will wind through beautiful southern Green Lake County passing through Dalton, Kingston, and Marquette, before arriving at our final destination, Norton's Restaurant on the shores of scenic Green Lake.
The route will pass the scene where Deputy Williams’ watch ended on October 19th, 2003. The scene will be marked by a lone squad car with its light bar activated.
The memorial ride will culminate in parade formation entering Deputy Williams’ hometown, Berlin, WI. The parade will terminate at Berlin's Riverside Park where riders will be treated to a hot pork roast dinner. A DJ with a street dance type atmosphere will commence at 7:00 PM and will last until midnight.
There is limited camping on-site for $14.00 on a first come, first serve basis for anyone wishing to spend the night.
This event has become very popular in Central Wisconsin and the organizers would like to assure everyone that this event will continue to grow for many years to come.
