The 7th Annual Bruce A. Williams Motorcycle Memorial Ride is set to begin at 9:00 AM on August 28th, 2010 at Riverside Park in Berlin, WI. The parking lot provides adequate space for registration and parking.
Note: To expedite the registration process, please have your waiver forms filled out and signed before arriving the day of the event. The waiver form can be found in the "Memorial Ride" menu above. For those riders that have attended in the past a mailing with a wavier will be sent to you in June. Please also note that registration times are from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM. Please make plans accordingly as the ride ceremony will start at 11:00 AM and we would like everyone registered by then.
During registration, coffee, juice drinks, and donuts will be provided by the Heartland Lodge 1 of the Fraternal Order of Police.
We encourage riders to visit the softball field where numerous silent auction items are available to bid on, of which many of the items relating to motorcycling. Do not be afraid to bid on something that is too large to take on your bike. We will make sure we get the item to you. The softball field will also have numerous refreshments available starting at 9:00 AM. Riders are also welcome to come a little early and participate in the opening ceremonies of the Co-ed softball tournament, starting at about 8:45 AM.
At 12:00 o'clock (noon), the blessing for the ride will commence and the ride will depart from Berlin.
As in the past the ride will leave Berlin, escorted by Law Enforcement with intersections also controlled. This portion of the ride will travel past the location where Deputy Bruce A. Williams ended his watch and then continue onto Norton’s on beautiful Green Lake.
Norton’s once again will have food and refreshments available for riders. Riders will receive their poker cards and map of the stops at Norton’s. Norton’s has been a great supporter of the event each year, donating 100% of their sales that day to the Bruce Williams Memorial Scholarship Foundation, Inc. We ask our riders to spend sometime at Norton's to enjoy Big Green Lake and plan your route for the day.
Riders will leave Norton’s on their own self guided ride throughout Green Lake, Fond du Lac, Winnebago, and Waushara Counties. There will be several locations through out this scenic portion of the state for riders to stop and get their “poker cards” stamped. Riders will need at least five stops along the way to be eligible for a poker hand.
Riders will return to Riverside Park in Berlin between 5:00 PM and 7:00 PM. Once at the park our traditional “Texas” style barbeque pork dinner, refreshments, and more will be available to all participants. Riders will also receive their poker hands at this time.
Starting at 7:00 PM there will be live music and a street dance with several other activities throughout the night. There is limited camping on-site for $14.00 on a first come, first serve basis for anyone wishing to spend the night.
This event has become very popular in Central Wisconsin and the organizers would like to assure everyone that this event will continue to grow for many years to come.
Please watch for future posting of the "poker hand" stops.
